PROFESSIONAL EXTEND® Canister SL3681A

All good!

As the owner of a housekeeping business, primarily focused on residential cleaning but with some commercial work, I've been using the Sanitaire SL3681A Blue Vacuum Cleaner for over 7.5 years. In that time, I've purchased at least 12 of them—I've tried many other vacuums for both hard floors (wood, tile) and carpet, but none compare to the performance of this model.

When I first started my business, I did a lot of research and wasted money on various vacuums, but the Sanitaire SL3681A stood out from the rest. It has been by far the best option for the diverse needs of my clients, offering easy handling, strong suction, and the convenience of fitting perfectly into our carrying cases along with other supplies. This is why I continue to purchase the same vacuum over and over again.

However, over the years, I’ve encountered a few issues. The base—the metal part that drags on the floor—starts to rust or crack with repeated use, which has led to some scratches on my customers’ floors. I’ve replaced this part several times through Amazon, and I now have about 10 extra bases on hand and they are not always the exact same as the one it comes with. Unfortunately, it seems this replacement part wears out quickly as well.

Another noticeable issue is the suction power. On some of the newer vacuums, the suction doesn’t seem as strong as it once was. It almost feels like the vacuum is gasping for air between rooms, especially when used on hardwood floors. The noise level has also increased, which can be disruptive. This is particularly inconvenient when cleaning for our high-end clients, as the loud sound can be off-putting and lead to complaints.

Lastly, the hose could be more durable. It would also be a huge help if there was a device available for cleaning the hose out more effectively.

Despite these issues, I remain loyal to this vacuum because of its overall performance. It's still my go-to tool for my business, but I do hope the manufacturer addresses these concerns to maintain the quality and durability that made me a fan in the first place.

Vacuum exceeded my expectations.

The first time I was searching for a vacuum that was not too expensive, would last a year, was commercial-like in its performance, was lightweight...only weighs 10 lbs.,,was easy to move on its wheels, and could be picked up and carried upstairs!! I also wanted a machine with a bag that was large, and this one is!! I purchased a lifetime of replacement bags when I bought the first vacuum. The first one finally stopped sucking things up. This wonderful company was having a sale, plus had the same vacuum in stock!! I will continue to shop with them for all replacements!! They were prompt in following through with placing the order, shipping it, and offering free shipping!! FedEx delivered it a day early!! It worked perfectly, so I am back up and running with equipment that properly sucks!! Thank you!! I will keep using you!!

Great suction and power and very light to maneuver. A big hit in our household.
